Tales of a Ranting Ginger: Review & Giveaway - Celebrate The Year of the Dragon with VH & PAM

Some of my families favourite memories are of walking the streets in Victoria British Columbia's China Town. Canada's oldest China Town community. When living out west my daughters class had a field trip to this wonderful community. We had no idea what to expect. I was along for the trip and so glad I was. We discovered unique shops,narrow alley ways full of culture, great restaurants and friendly people. We learned about the history and made the destination a family favourite. I hope to visit there again one day. It was then that we first celebrated Chinese New Year.

Since then the tradition has carried on. we may live on the other side of the country, but our memories are relived every year while we celebrate. Monday January 23 is the Beginning of the year of the Dragon. To celebrate I had the opportunity to try some Chinese New Year inspired meals thanks to VH and PAM. I was delighted that my picky boys even loved them. One night I made a shrimp and noodle dish the other a beef and rice. Each had lots of veggies (must admit my son picked out the veggies)

I find the VH sauces to make every meal I made perfect. The combination or sweet, sour, hot and spicy are well balanced. I was surprised that all I needed for my big family was 1 jar. I had stopped using sauces in my meals because my kids were younger and a bit picky, but now knowing they are open to trying new things again makes me want to expand our meal choices more.
