Getting ready for vacation

We have been eagerly waiting for this weekend to arrive for quite sometime. We have planned a trip for me and three of my children to go to Florida. At first it was just an idea, then the kids seemed to be talking more and more about their friends and their summer plans. So we looked into it a bit more and now it is a go. Travelling across the boarder with children is not an easy task. We have had to do much preparation for this trip.

First thing needed was getting the kids their passports. To have no issues with their passports we also had to order their long form birth certificates. These both cost a bit initially to obtain. The passports need to be updated every few years but that is the easy part. I was also told that when one parent travels alone crossing the boarder they need a letter of permission from the other parent dated and signed. If there are custody agreements you need to bring these as well. A law group like Weinberger Law Group can help you with this.

We now have all the documents needed for our trip. We have our plane and hotel booked and bags packs (well mostly). I have been cleaning and making arrangement for our dogs while we are gone. My oldest is staying behind as she is working in preparation for school in the Fall. To be honest I am a bit nervous to travel alone with my kids. There is a wide age range and they will want to visit very different attractions. They have never been on an airplane before either. So they are excited and nervous about that. I figure a two and a half hour trip will be fun though. We have games and book packed to keep them entertained.

I really am looking forward to checking out the local attractions and visiting the beach. I miss the ocean so much. I have never been to Florida in the summer either. I hope we can visit some of the outlet malls while there and do a little shopping. It is going to be a busy two weeks for sure. I look forward to sharing all the details with you when I get back.

Are you travelling this summer? Where is your favourite place to take your family on holidays?
