Style of bras 
A key trend of 2012, carried over from last spring/summer, is underwear as outerwear. Designers as hot as Christian Dior and Stella McCartney, among others, are still endorsing the look. Don’t feel like you have to go totally overboard, though – subtlety is key here, and a hint of lingerie is all you need to capture the essence of the underwear/outerwear style. However, if you’re planning on making your underwear an important feature of your outfit and to draw attention to it, you need to be sure that you’ve picked out the right style, colour, and fabric to suit your overall look. Here are a few essential tips for picking the perfect bra this spring. 

1. Get measured. Recent figures suggest that an unbelievable 80% of British women are wearing the wrong bra size. The most frequent mistake made is purchasing a back size that is too big – all the support in the bra comes from the band around the back, so correct sizing here is essential. If the bra band is lifted up at the back when you wear it and the cups dip downwards, it is likely that your bra band size is too big. Women’s breasts come in all shapes and sizes so don’t be afraid to get a fitting in-store – these are usually free and the staff will be experienced specialists who know exactly what they’re doing. Always try a bra on, as every different cut, style, and fabric will feel different when it’s actually on. 


2. Pick the right style for your shape. There are two main styles of bra which the majority of women fit into depending on the size and shape of their breasts. Fuller breasts will benefit from a balcony bra which will push them up from underneath, whilst a plunge bra helps less full breasts by pushing them up from the sides, causing breasts to appear fuller and rounder. 3. Choose a good colour. Choosing a colour that will suit what you wear is important if you’re going to make a point of showing off your underwear as part of your outfit.
