Lately as I am getting closer and closer to 40 I am noticing myself checking out other moms. Not in the “Hey I think you are hot kind of way“. But in the comparing my after baby body to theirs kind of way. When I had my first child over 18 years ago I was still fit and in shape. Three kids later and a few years and I can not say the same about my current body. For the most part I am pretty happy and secure in my skin. But I do have days where I think about being thinner and in shape. Plus my “baby” is starting school so I can not really consider it an after baby body anymore
One of my close friends who I had always thought to be healthy and in shape pointed out to me that we all have things about our body we do not like. She told me she did not like her thighs after having two kids and also pointed out the wonders her bra performed
So when I see on TV and in magazines that a mom who is a celebrity has had surgery done or a mommy makeover, I kind of get it. I understand what it feels like to remember your before children body. And if you have cameras in your face all the time waiting to take a picture of you looking less than perfect, it would be even more important. So why are other moms judging them? Why would it matter? We have all been through our own struggles and you never know what someones life is like until you are in their shoes. Maybe having a baby is not the only reason some need a mommy makeover. Maybe health reasons are being considered.
I had a look at the Plastic Surgery Guide and found the procedures offered to be interesting. If I was to get a mommy makeover I think my stomach would be the focus for me. I guess if you went that route you would need to make sure you maintained your body after having surgery. However for now, I am going to try the old fashioned route and see if some exercise helps with this first
After all I am not looking to have a bikini body but I would like to look good in my clothes.
