I loved watching Jim Henson’s muppets when I was a kid.  I remember watching Kermit, Grover, Cookie Monster and Big Bird on Sesame Street, and thinking Wow, Where is this Street?  I was forever asking my parents to take me there.  This was because I loved the muppets so much, and I wanted to be a part of them.  I recently found out that there is a new Jim Henson Muppet show on TV called Pajanimals.  Currently it runs on Saturday mornings on NBC Kids.  It has 4 leading muppet characters that appear to be just as lovable called Cowbella – a white and purple cow, Apollo – a green and purple dog, Sweetpea Sue – a pink and orange horse, and Squacky – a blue and yellow duck.  These adorable little characters are all dressed in their pajamas  and have daily adventures while in the process of getting ready for bed.

So, I was incredibly excited when I was able to review a new Pajanimal product with my toddler called the PAJANIMALS’ Snuggle Up Story Mat from TOMY.  It is such a cute, and vibrant sleep mat and cover-up.  It also contains a secret book that transforms into a pillow.  The soft billowy pages of the pillow book display each one of the Pajanimal characters going through some sort of sleepy time adventure.  The best part is that there are no words, so you can make up a new story for your child every time   I also loved the warm, soft cozy feel of the attached blanket on the sleep mat.


To fully get into the Pajanimal mood, I dressed up my son in his pajamas  and placed him on the mat.  Immediately, he was intrigued with the pillow book, and started to pull at the soft pages to find out what was inside.  I started to tell him goofy stories about what each of the Pajanimal characters were doing, like “See that green dog?, his name is Apollo, and he’s getting ready for bed.  Oh, look he’s going to dream about going to the moon, where he is going to jump all over and eat cheese.”  He then proceeded to crawl under the covers of the attached blanket, and play peek-a-boo with me.  Then, he wanted to look at the book pages again.  Finally, he motioned for me to come lie down beside him on the pillow for a little snuggle.  Aww, I can’t get enough of those.  All in all, this story mat was real hit with my toddler!
