Having a fourth baby usually means bringing out all of the old hand me downs from the previous three children. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with that, and it saves me quite a bit of money. However, every now and again it is nice to be able to receive something new for the newest little one.
That is why I was so thrilled to be able to test out the new 2014 Evenflo SmartFold Travel System in the Barcelona colour (bright red and grey). The Evenflo SmartFold Travel System consists of both an infant car seat and a new ultra fast fold lightweight stroller, which I have been trying out for the last 2 months.
Obviously, the Evenflo car seat was the first thing that I tried out after having the baby, since with 4 kids, our family is always on the go, especially to hockey practices and games during the long winter. I found that the car seat was very easy to transport with the Mom-friendly ergonomic handle, and its light weight design (It’s only 7.5 lbs.!). The Evenflo car seat also has a weight rating of 4-35 lbs., so it is perfect to use from even the smallest preemie baby to the biggest almost 2 year old toddler. Also, I really like the look and feel of the car seat material itself, since the bright red is so cheery, and the feel of the material is almost waterproof, and machine washable which is a bonus.
When my baby was just a few weeks old, I really appreciated the plush infant head pillow which cradled his tiny little head. Then, after he gained a few pounds, it was time to adjust the seat belts in the car seat, which I used to dread doing in previous car seats. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how easy this procedure was to do with this Evenflo car seat. Instead of having to rethread car seat belts through tight metal clasps, there are seat belt loops at the back of this car seat which come off easily to allow you to rethread the seat belt though the next height position in the car seat, and then reattach to the clasp at the back of the car seat. The car seat also comes with an adjustable canopy which was helpful to keep out all of the wind and snow off my baby’s face during all of those harsh winter storms in the past 2 months.
Now that the weather is getting warmer – YAY!, I have finally been able to test out the second component of the Evenflo SmartFold Travel System: the stroller. This Evenflo SmartFold stroller is a dream to use. It can either be used with the Evenflo car seat, or it can be used as a stand alone stroller. With my little guy still napping quite a bit, I find using the car seat option my go to method of baby transport right now. It is so easy to attach the car seat to the stroller, after placing it rear facing onto the stroller, it just snaps into place over the child’s tray, and then it has a safety support strap which you can attach to the car seat. Voila!, your car seat is now portable with a sleeping baby in tow.
This stroller has all of the bells and whistles that any Mom could hope for with a modern stroller. It has a huge storage basket underneath, which is perfect for storing all of the baby’s and everyone else’s stuff. It also comes with a top storage pocket suitable for sunglasses or keys, and a parent cup holder: Timmies anyone? When it’s time to pack up the stroller it is a breeze to fold up and store. I could not believe how easy it was to use one hand to unhook the red safety latch, and then with the same hand pull up on the loop in the middle of the seat to fold the stroller down in a few seconds flat. Then with the wheels locked, the stroller could either remain folded standing upright, or it could easily be packed away into the back of the car. I loved the light weight feel of this stroller – it is just under 16 lbs. It is very maneuverable with lockable front swivel wheels. I also love how easy it is to adjust the reclining position of the stroller seat so that your baby can take a nap while you stroll around. There is even a peek-a-boo window in the stroller canopy to check and see if he is still sleeping.
I am really impressed with this Evenflo SmartFold Travel System, and think that it is amazing value for money considering it is just $194.66 right now at Walmart. I am so looking forward to getting out for a stroll with my baby in the Evenflo SmartFold Travel System this spring!

I just saw someone in the mall with this yesterday! At least I think it was the same one. I always loved Evenflo when my son was little. Now that I have a baby niece, I am paying attention to baby stuff again.
That looks extra convenient to most.
I love the colors on this. One of the most difficult purchases for me when I had my daughter was picking out a stroller. I couldn't find one that did exactly what I wanted/needed. I wish I would have had this with her.

Great review…one thing that I wish my stroller had was more storage especially underneath like this one.
This stroller looks very comfortable and easy to take with you wherever you go, My friend is due in 5 weeks and can not decide what stroller to get. For this price and quality I will definitely be letting her know about Evenflo. Thank you
What a great stroller. I love how small it folds up and how much room it has to carry stuff.

That is an awesome stroller and your model is too cute.
This looks so comfy! Sometimes I wish I could just lay in the stroller and have someone push me around!
That looks like a really nice system. I remember having one nice system and one inexpensive one. I can't tell you how much of a difference the quality one made. Little features like the height was better, the wheels rolled better. When you're toting a kid with all the gear, all those little things add up!

What a great travel system for babies! I love how compact and lightweight this is. That was a big regret for me when my kiddos were babies. Our stroller weighed a ton so we never took it anywhere! This looks like a much better alternative.
Looks like an amazing stroller. I could have used one when my girls were younger.
This is a really nice travel system! Your Little seems to love it, being so small and all! I love that it folds up so tight and looks like really great quality.
That is one fancy stroller! I love how easy it is to close and open!

This sounds like a great stroller. I like the pillow in the car seat for head support. Tiny babies need that and it is so important to protect their growing bodies.
I thought my daughters stroller was nice until I saw this one. We definitely need this in our lives!
I really like how you were able to adjust it as he grew. That's so helpful and gives it more value.
