Summer is here with a Bang!! Thanks to Horseshoe Resort #RediscoverFun

Last week we had the pleasure of being guests at Horseshoe resort near Barrie Ontario. This is one of Ontario’s premier four season destinations. We headed up for the night and two fun filled days. Myself and my four kids aged 5-20 went. When we arrived we were pleased to see we had two adjoining rooms looking over the green on the 5th hole. One room had two queen beds and the other a king size bed with a sofa bed in a sunken living area. The room with the king bed also had a deep tub that made my kids want a bath more than usual LOL

After settling into our room we went exploring. We checked out the maze and the frog pond in the adventure area. We also grabbed dinner before heading for a swim at the indoor pool. There is an outdoor pool as well, we just did not make it there.

The following day after an amazing buffet breakfast onsite we headed to Adventure buggies. I drove one with my 14 year old as a passenger and my older son went with our guide. We went through trails, up hills and through mud. It was the most fun I have had in ages! Since you need a drivers license to drive and need t be a certain height to ride, my girls headed to the park for some adventure.

We discovered my five year no longer has a fear of heights and is really good at rock climbing. We visited the horses on-sight and little one went on a pony ride ($5 gets you five minutes) My children checked out the Aqua OGO that is like a giant hamster ball with water that rolls down a hill. This looked like a great time but I was a bit chicken to try myself. My boys also decided to continue on with the adventure and they left me to go on a guided downhill bike ride. I am still hearing them go on and on about how much they loved this. They crashed a few times, but had the proper safety equipment on and the guide was great. The lifts would take them and the bikes up the hill and they would ride down on narrow and bumpy trails.

In the adventure park you can pay for each activity individually or get a wrist band and do them all. Some are not included in the wrist band and some are offered by third party companies. So check out their site for info ahead of time.

Other activities my family enjoyed while there was the Euro bungy jumping, paddle boating, the mining and Commando Obstacle course. There is also zip lining on Ontarios fastest zip line and mini golf. Something for all ages and abilities.

  1. I was following your pics and videos on Instagram while you were there! Horseshoe Resort looks so great! I love all the activities they have to offer. Next time we make it to Ontario we might have to check it out.

  2. I was following the fun on Instagram. It looked like you guys had a great time (I want to do that Aqua Ogo). As for the room, it looks (and sounds) amazing. I have a rule when it comes to hotels: the bedding has to be white. No, I'm not a diva but I say that because white shows everything. So if there is a little but of dirt, they have to clean it. The room looks very clean.

I just love this part of Ontario and we like to head up that way often, but I had no idea that Horseshoe offered so much in the summer! I would be a bit nervous with that water ball thing to. It looks fun, but I would leave it to the kiddos, LOL. Have to say Kim, I love that photo of you bombing through the mud! I'd frame that 🙂

Holy JEEZ how is there so much awesome in one place? I've hit Horseshoe Valley a number of times over the years, but I never knew they had all this.

It's going on the list. Off-roading? Hamster balls on water? DOING IT.

    Thanks for sharing 😀
