Yummy Yogurt Covered Banana Snacks

I have started experimenting a bit with the foods my kids love. They are all a bit on the picky side, so combining what they love allows me to change things up a bit. I find when they want a snack they are more likely to grab something they can eat right away, than prepare and have to wait. So on the go snacks that are on the healthier side are a plus.

I recently came across these Yummy yogurt covered banana snacks and knew my kids would love them. They love frozen yogurt and bananas and I can dip them in their favourite cereals. For a fun treat we can even cover them with sprinkles of chocolate chips.

Yummy Yogurt Covered Banana Snacks

This recipe makes 2 banana treats.

Ingredients

– 2 Bananas
– Vanilla Greek Yogurt
– Mini Chocolate Chips and Nut Toppings, crushed cereal, pretzels – or whatever toppings you want!
– Popsicle Sticks
Directions

– Place a piece of parchment paper on a baking sheet.
– Stick a popsicle stick at the bottom of the banana. You can also break the banana into 2 pieces for smaller snacks!
– Fill a bowl with your favorite flavor of Greek yogurt. We used vanilla for this recipe but coconut would be good then top with shredded coconut!
– Put the banana into the bowl, making sure to coat it completely with Greek yogurt.
– Top with your toppings for a fun summer treat!
– You can eat this right away or put into the freezer to let the yogurt harden. We tried both ways and they were delicious!

Bananas are extremely healthy and delicious. Compared to most fruits, they are very affordable as well. When they start to turn throw them in the freezer and ave for banana bread.

They contain several essential nutrients, and have benefits for digestion, heart health and weight loss. Aside from being very nutritious, they are also a highly convenient snack food. This recipe is a fun way to get your kids to eat them on the go. The possibilities are endless with how you can dip and cover them.

How would your kids like theirs?
