Super Yummy Marble Peppermint Bark for the holidays

marble-peppermint-bark

It has only been about a year since I discovered bark and I am addicted! It is so good and you can add so many different things to it. It is like making your own candy bars 🙂 For the holidays the Marble Peppermint Bark is always a big hit!

Marble Peppermint Bark

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces milk chocolate melting chips
  • 12 ounces white chocolate melting chips
  • 3 Candy canes
  • 1 tsp mint extract

Supplies

  • Wax paper
  • Baking sheet
  • Melting pot
  • Rolling pin
  • Ziploc bag

Prepare all your materials and ingredients before melting chocolate because steps need to be done immediately after the previous step.

Line your baking tray with wax paper.

Unwrap candy canes and place them in a plastic bag. Use a rolling pin to crush the candy canes into small bits.

Set your melting pot/s to medium heat, add milk chocolate to the pot and reduce heat once chocolate is completely melted. In a separate container, melt white chocolate and keep warm.

Stir ¾ of the crushed candy cane into the melted milk chocolate. Add mint extract to milk chocolate too and mix in well.

Pour melted milk chocolate out onto wax paper. Use a spatula to spread flat, about ¼ inch thickness. Pour melted white chocolate into lines over the milk chocolate. Use a butter knife to swirl white chocolate into milk chocolate, doing this in a circular motion.

Before chocolate begins to harden, sprinkle the remaining crushed candy cane over the top of the bark. Set baking tray aside and allow bark to harden completely. Break marble bark into large pieces using your hands. Bark can be enjoyed for up to a week after making, when you store in an airtight container.
