Books that make kids laugh from @scholasticCDA

Scholastic Canada is one of the country’s leading publishers and distributors of children’s books and educational materials in both official languages. For over 50 years Scholastic Canada has introduced young people to the joys of reading, and has enlarged their understanding of Canada and the world. As a young girl I often looked forward to placing my monthly order in my class for a book from Scholastic Canada. Now my six year is doing the same.

She is improving her reading skills every day. She is starting to sound out bigger words and has a few favourite books she loves to read over and over. Some of her faves are funny books with large pictures. This are visually pleasing yet still a nice read. The larger print is great for bed time reading and beginner readers.

A few of our faves are

The Ducks Says – ages 3-8 $16.99

Follow the duck in this madcap romp around the farmyard, which will have kids delighting in his clueless antics and witty wordplay. A little absurd, a lot slapstick, and all good fun, this is one to keep within arm’s reach at storytime.

Please , Mr Panda –ages 3-5 $18.99

Patiently and politely, Mr. Panda asks the animals he comes across if they would like a doughnut. A penguin, a skunk, and a whale all say yes, but they do not remember to say “please” and “thank you.” Is anyone worthy of Mr. Panda’s doughnuts?

Pig the Pug – ages 3-5 $14.99

Meet the greediest pug in the world. Pif is ill-tempered, rude, and unreasonable. He lives with Trevor the sausage dog, who would like nothing better than to play with Pig’s toys.

This rhyming books shows that sometimes people, and dogs learn the hard way.

These books are quick reads and a lot of fun! Big colourful pictures and simple stories everyone can relate to.

These fun books are sure to bring on a few laughs when you read them with your child. They are silly stories about animals after all 🙂
