Ooey Gooey Santa Cookies Recipe

We are starting our Christmas baking and the kids are thrilled! We have a variety of family recipes we like to make every year to enjoy and to share. Plus if he is lucky, Santa may get some of these on his travels on Christmas eve. This year we are adding a new cookie to our platter, the Ooey Gooey Santa Cookies.
See this yummy recipe below and give them a try this holiday season when you are baking. Yum!
Ooey Gooey Santa Cookies
 Ingredients
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 stick melted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup marshmallows
  • 1 cup red, green, and chocolate mini chips
  • parchment paper
Preheat oven to 325F.
In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until fully combined; to aerate.
Melt butter completely in a microwave safe bowl. In a large bowl using an electric mixer, cream together the brown sugar, white sugar, and melted butter. Beat in the vanilla and eggs. Continue beating until batter is light and creamy. In increments, add in flour mixture, mixing after each addition.
Add chocolate mini chips and marshmallows to the dough mix, stirring by hand. Place 1″ balls of dough on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake 10 to 12 minutes until edges are a light golden brown. Remove from sheet to cooling rack.

We have not started baking yet as we had the stomach flu slowing down the household. My fave is either Chocolate Mocha ball cookies dusted with powdered sugar or Shortbread. The Ooey Gooey Santa Cookie recipe looks colorful and fun for the kids.
